Art blogging after two years

Hi there,

I started this blog with a motive to share my art and drawing experiences. Sharing the process that is involved, behind the scenes of making the art, etc. But I couldn't do that for the last few months. I'm not complaining as I took a maternity break, took care of my baby. Now that she is one and a half years old, I thought of executing all my plans of art blog.

I should say that this break made a different person. I evolved as a person and as an artist. It is strange how the entry of a little one changes our lives altogether. I could see my work have changed so much.

During this break, learnt a lot of tricks and explored many different styles of art. Worked on few projects. Gained experience as an artist. Now I think I can share my journey and the knowledge that I learnt along.

To start with I was zoned out and my mind was left blank. As they say it I had art block. I don't know where to start and how to restart my career. But I should start somewhere. It was during this phase around a year back, I thought of contacting my favorite artist. He is a well renowned Illustrator. Glad I got an opportunity to talk to him. He had a look at my artworks and got my know my passion.

He gently, very gently insisted the importance of improving my work. I really loved the analogy he used. He said that a laborer works for hours only to be paid meagerly. But there are also people who are paid in lakhs just for putting their signature. Everything is in improving for skillset and knowledge. When you give the best, the right opportunity comes to you.

This was an eye-opening conversation with him. It helped me improve as a person as well. I thanked him immensely and started work on my skills. Learnt many techniques via youtube, courses from other artists. More on that on coming posts.

As of now have a great time,

xoxo

Sindhu.
